Chelsea Conrad, Director of Creative Engagement
Chelsea is our Director of Creative Engagement. She is responsible for effectively communicating the Causeway brand through design, communications and engagement opportunities. She is passionate about combining visual and verbal communication to inform and inspire Chattanoogans to act on their good ideas for our city.
Before coming to Causeway, Chelsea worked as a freelance graphic designer with several local organizations. At The Company Lab she worked to design and promote local entrepreneurship events such as GigTank, Will This Float?, and 48 Hour Launch. During her time at D+J Brand Consulting, she worked on a rebranding initiative for the Women’s Fund of Greater Chattanooga. She also co-facilitated a high school entrepreneurship course at Tyner Academy and worked with adult entrepreneurs from underserved communities with LAUNCH. While studying at UTC, Chelsea gained design experience interning at local firm Widgets & Stone, and spent a summer working with World Vision, the largest humanitarian aid organization in the world. During her time there she designed a social media campaign that broke the organizations current record for engagement.
Chelsea grew up in Memphis and moved to Chattanooga to attend the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). She graduated cum laude from UTC with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. She also spent a summer studying digital photography at the Florence University of the Arts in Italy. In 2014 Chelsea was one of ten young designers from around the world selected for Camp Firebelly in Chicago–an intensive apprenticeship for young designers looking to use their powers for good. She is a member of AIGA, an advisor for the artist collective, 800, and Chattanooga's city ambassador for Hey, What's Good In.
