Ferger Place Park

Causeway Chattanooga August 5, 2015

Tucked away off Main Street sits one of Chattanooga's oldest neighborhoods, Ferger Place. Tron Wilder received $2,500 through our first Causeway Challenge to transform the rarely used Ferger Place Park to a place of community gathering by installing interactive elements to the park and organizing neighborhood work dates and gatherings. With the grant money, the residents were able to add several park features, including a sandbox and a fire pit built by several of the neighbors, a beautiful concrete game table & several concrete stools created by Set in Stone, and a set of concrete corn hole boards created by a neighborhood resident. The team says that these additions really increased the use of the park. In fall of 2015, the neighborhood held their second annual "Fergtoberfest" celebration in the park where ALL of these new features were in use!
